Earley St.Peter's

The Friends of St Peter’s was founded in 1976 to provide funds for the purpose of supplementing the resources of the church.

The aim has been to arrange a programme that includes both fund-raising and social events. We welcome people who are not members of the congregation but would like to join us in our social activities. Over the years the money raised by the Friends has been used to meet a variety of specific needs within the Church. Support has been given to Sunday School, Choir, Youth Groups, Flower Fund, Floor Fund, Organ Fund and providing Hymn Books.

Events during the last two years have included

· Skittles evenings, including a Fish and Chip supper. The winner holds the Jack Brown Memorial Cup for a year.

· Harvest Barn Dances/Supper with entertainment.

· Trips to the Hexagon to see Amateur Operatic Shows.

· Christmas concerts led by the Choir, Play Reading Group and other members of the church providing a varied programme.

The Friends also provide help with refreshments at events when required.

We hope that the Friends will continue to grow and provide social events for the community together with support for the church and its various groups when required.
