Alpha at St.Peter's
Ever wondered
what it's all about?
Over 2 million people in the
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian
faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with one
weekend day away. Many guests have never been to church, others may have
attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the
basics of the Christian faith. Others are just curious and decide to come
along.
“Alpha
is a 'try-it-and-see-it'. No one forces you to go. If it isn't for you, then
you simply don't turn up”. (Bob Diamond, newspaper reporter).
“The beauty of the course is that
people are invited to disagree with everything they hear if they so wish.”
(Howard Long, Methodist Minister)
“I feel 100 per cent comfortable
recommending it as I know no-one is ever judged or bible-bashed! People tend to
work through their own stuff and at least by the end you can make an informed
decision for or against faith. The Alpha course is super laid back and its fun.
I think the only thing I'd say is that you don't have to impress anyone. You
can be yourself and honest.” (Bear Grylls, Born Survivor, Channel 4 and ex
SAS).
How much does it cost?
The course is free, though you may be
invited to contribute food or help towards the cost of food if you are able.
